Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) has inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) on August 31, 2023. The MoU with BSNL will pave the way for synergy of operations between MTNL & BSNL in order to provide Pan India Telecom Services as Public Sector Enterprise under Government of India. The MoU will also provide broad framework for implementation of decisions taken by the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on July 27, 2022.
MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
