Asian markets settled mostly lower on Tuesday amid bets that US Fed will keep interest rates higher for longer to tame surging inflation. Chinese shares declined ahead of China's week-long National Day holiday beginning on Friday, while concerns about a possible US government shutdown also weighed on market sentiments. Developments at two major Chinese property developers China Evergrande Group and China Oceanwide Holdings dampened hopes for economic recovery in China. Investors are awaiting China’s industrial profit, manufacturing and services PMI data due later in the week. Moreover, Hong Kong shares fell on lingering economic and geopolitical worries.
