Asian markets settled mostly higher on Wednesday, despite Wall Street’s overnight fall on worries about hawkish signals from the US Federal Reserve. Chinese stocks rebounded after data showed profits at China's industrial firms in August posted a surprise surge of 17.2% from a year earlier, pointing to signs of economic recovery. Moreover, promises of more monetary stimulus from the People’s Bank of China also supported market sentiments. Meanwhile, Seoul shares gained marginally ahead of a long holiday weekend.
