Asian markets ended mixed on Friday amid Chinese, South Korean, and Taiwan markets were closed for holiday. Hong Kong shares jumped on positive forecasts for Chinese September Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index data due over the weekend, while Wall Street’s overnight gains and declining bond yields also supporting market sentiments. However, Japanese shares declined on mixed bag of economic readings. Data showed that Japanese factory output was flat in August and retail sales grew 7% from a year earlier in the month, while core inflation in Japan's capital Tokyo slowed in September for the third straight month.
