Asian markets settle mostly higher on Thursday

05 Oct 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Thursday due to a pullback in US Treasury yields from multi-year highs. Japanese shares rallied despite uncertainty over the US Federal Reserve's future monetary policy moves. Meanwhile, investors looked ahead to the release of key US nonfarm payrolls report on Friday for further direction. However, Kospi's shares ended marginally down after data showed inflation accelerated in September due to higher energy and food prices. Chinese market remained closed for the Golden Week holiday.
