Videocon Industries soars on plans to boost sales during IPL 6 season

Videocon Industries is currently trading at Rs 215.90, up by 1.25 points or 0.58% from its previous closing of Rs 214.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 210.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 219.10 and Rs 210.60 respectively. So far 49779 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 246.25 on 03-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 161.10 on 27-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 216.50 and Rs 200.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 6955.60 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.83% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.66% and 12.87% respectively.

Videocon Industries is planning to buy airtime on television during IPL 6 season in order to give its brand and summer-oriented products more visibility. At present, the electronics maker is a principal sponsor for the Mumbai Indians team in IPL 6. It has decided to increase it’s spend up to Rs 40 crore in the tournament, to boost sales of its consumer durables brands.

The company is likely to launch a new ad campaign for its new-look refrigerators and ACs, featuring the Mumbai Indian team. It has launched a big screen sizes like 80-inch and 65-inch LED models and even Smart TVs which will feature in its campaign during IPL.
