Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Monday

Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Monday, in a thin holiday trade, on geo-political tensions amid the Israel-Hamas war. Participants also side-lined as they keenly awaits for this week’s Chinese inflation and trade data. Shanghai index slipped with the negative global trend, as they mainland China market reopened after the week-long Golden Week holiday. Stock markets of Japan, South Korea and Taiwan were closed for National Sports Day, Hangul Day, and Double Ten Day holidays respectively. While, the morning session trading in Hong Kong is cancelled after the city raised its typhoon warning for Typhoon Koinu. 

Straits Times narrowed by 7.90 points or 0.25% to 3,166.49, Shanghai Composite down by 21.54 points or 0.70% to 3,088.94 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped 0.34 points or 0.02% to 1,416.54.

 On the flip side, Jakarta Composite was up by 23.25 points or 0.34% to 6,911.77.
