Copper futures trade higher on Monday

09 Oct 2023 Evaluate
Copper futures traded higher on Monday on improved demand after Chinese markets reopened after a week-long public holiday. However, strong US jobs data for September fuelled worries of more interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve, limited further gains in copper prices.

Copper futures for December delivery gained 0.91% or $0.0330 at $3.6605 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
