Copper futures settled higher on Monday on improved demand after Chinese buyers returned from week-long holidays. Although, geopolitical uncertainty around Israel-Hamas conflict, strengthening American currency at overseas markets and rising inventories have limited further gains in copper prices.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0185 to settle at $3.6460 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.72 percent at $8,104 a ton.
