GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare has introduced a premium variant under the Sensodyne brand, called Sensodyne Repair and Protect. The entity plans to target this new product at metro consumers and new toothpaste is priced at Rs 80 and Rs 150 for 40 gm and 80 gm. With this initiative, company aims to widen the market by offering more specialized products.
The company has reported 17.85% rise in its net profit at Rs 69.65 crore for the year ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 59.10 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 18.27% at Rs 769.62 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 650.70 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
