Coal India’s production rises by 15.4% to 61.1 MT in October

Coal India’s coal production has increased by 15.4% to 61.1 million tonnes (MT) in October 2023 as against 52.9 MT in October 2022. The company’s production in the April- October 2023 period increased 11.9% to 394.0 MT, compared with 351.9 MT in the year-ago period.  

The company's offtake increased by 14.8% to 61.6 MT in October, 2023, over 53.7 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year.  Its offtake in the April- October 2023 period increased by 9.5% to 422.4 MT over 385.7 MT in the year-ago period.        

Coal India (CIL) is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
