Asian markets settle mostly higher on Thursday

02 Nov 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Thursday tracking Wall Street gains overnight after comments from US Fed Chair Jerome Powell suggested that interest rate hikes were done. The US Federal Reserve again held its benchmark interest rates steady as widely expected amid a backdrop of a growing economy and labour market. Japanese shares gained on hopes that US yields may have peaked. Seoul shares rallied even after data showed South Korean consumer inflation accelerated for a third straight month to reach a seven-month high in October.
