Coal India gains as its production rises by 15.4% to 61.1 MT in October

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 312.00, up by 3.10 points or 1.00% from its previous closing of Rs. 308.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 310.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 313.10 and Rs. 310.25 respectively. So far 204847 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 319.55 on 18-Oct-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 207.70 on 27-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 317.00 and Rs. 306.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 192277.12 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.96% and 4.91% respectively.

Coal India’s coal production has increased by 15.4% to 61.1 million tonnes (MT) in October 2023 as against 52.9 MT in October 2022. The company’s production in the April- October 2023 period increased 11.9% to 394.0 MT, compared with 351.9 MT in the year-ago period.  

The company's offtake increased by 14.8% to 61.6 MT in October, 2023, over 53.7 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year.  Its offtake in the April- October 2023 period increased by 9.5% to 422.4 MT over 385.7 MT in the year-ago period.        

Coal India (CIL) is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
