Asian markets settle higher on Monday

06 Nov 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled higher on Monday tracking Wall Street’s gains last Friday as weak US jobs, slowdown in US service sector activity data and an uptick in US unemployment eased worries about further interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve. Chinese shares jumped as Beijing stepped up efforts to stabilise markets, while investors awaiting Chinese trade and inflation figures due later this week. Moreover, Japanese shares gained after BOJ governor Kazuo Ueda said the country was making progress toward stable inflation.
