Copper futures settle higher on Monday

Copper futures settled higher on Monday with expectations that the US Federal Reserve would keep interest rates unchanged at its December meeting. Copper prices improved further after Chinese Premier announced a projection of China’s import volume reaching $17 trillion in the next five years.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0375 to settle at $3.7190 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.76 percent at $8,238 a ton.
