Asian markets settled mostly down on Tuesday ahead of US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech later this week. Chinese shares declined marginally after data showed that China's exports shrank 6.4% year-on-year in October and imports went up by 3%, signalled an uneven recovery in the world's second largest economy, despite a series of government stimulus measures. Japanese shares declined due to profit booking by investors after recent string of gains. Moreover, resurgence in US Treasury yields also weighed on market sentiments. However, some losses were capped by expectations that the US Federal Reserve is done with its monetary tightening.
