ACC, India's no 2 cement producer’s cement production for the month of September 2011 rose by 9.86% to 1.67 million tonnes as compared to 1.52 million tonnes a year ago. The company’s, in which Swiss cement maker Holcim holds about 46 percent, despatches in September rose by 9.49% to 1.73 million tonnes compared to 1.58 million tonnes.
On a cumulative basis, the company’s cement production for January - September 2011 period rose by 14.06% to 17.76 million tonnes compared to 15.57 million tonnes for the same period a year ago. The company’s despatches for January-September 2011 period rose by 14.11% to 17.79 million tonnes compared to 15.59 million tonnes for the same period a year ago.
The company’s net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 has dipped 6.22% at Rs 336.58 crore as compared to Rs 358.93 crore for the same quarter last year. Its total income increased by 19.21% to Rs 2480.10 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 2080.42 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
