Asian markets settle mostly higher on Thursday

09 Nov 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Thursday in spite of uncertainty surrounding the US Federal Reserve's interest rate hike path. Investors are cautiously awaiting US Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech later today, for further cues. Japanese shares gained after reports that Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had decided against calling an election before the end of the year. Moreover, Chinese shares rose marginally after reports showing that its consumer prices declined 0.2% year-on-year in October while factory-gate prices fell 2.6%.
