Telangana Chief Minister (CM) K Chandrasekhar Rao today filed his nominations for the upcoming state polls from Kamareddy and Gajwel assembly constituencies.
CM KCR was accompanied by sitting Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan and other party leaders while submitting the nomination papers to the returning officer in Kamareddy. KCR had offered prayers at Venkateswara Swamy temple at Konaipally in Siddipet district. Earlier in the day, CM also submitted his nomination from Gajwel, which he is representing in the outgoing assembly. KCR was elected from Gajwel in 2014 and 2018, is seeking re-election from the same constituency in his native Siddipet district.
Kamareddy is set to witness an exciting contest as the Congress has fielded state Congress president A Revanth Reddy as its candidate from the constituency to take on KCR. BJP MLA Eatala Rajender, a former BRS leader, is taking on KCR in Gajwel, while Congress has fielded Thumkunta Narsa Reddy as its nominee in the constituency. Polling for the 119-member Telangana assembly will go to polls on November 30 and the counting of votes will take place on December 03.
