Jindal Stainless, the largest domestic stainless steel producer is likely to double its Odisha plant capacity to 2 million tonnes (MT) within two years. It aims to reach optimum production capacity of 1 MT at the Odisha and expects to achieve 75% capacity utilization in the current fiscal. The entity also plans to start expansion of its Jajpur plant in Odisha, by 2015.
Jindal Stainless manufactures stainless steel slabs, blooms, hot rolled and cold rolled coils, 60% of which are exported worldwide. It has a stainless steel making facility at Hissar and a ferro alloy plant at Vizag.
