NALCO pays Rs 156.68 crore as dividend to GoI for FY2012-13

National Aluminium Company (NALCO), the Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines, has declared an interim dividend of 15% amounting to Rs193.29 crore for the financial year 2012-13, which includes the Government of India’s (GoI) share of Rs 156.68 crore. The cheque for interim dividend was handed over to Union Minister of Mines by the company on April 25, 2013. The company has paid Rs 4,390.31 crore as dividend since inception which also includes Rs 3,816.30 crore as share of Government.

The recent divestment of company shares by the Government through Offer for Sale (OFS) route has left the Government holding 81.06% shares of the company. The remaining shares are held by over 66,000 shareholders including banks, financial institutions and individual shareholders.
