Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda today released the party's 'Sankalp Patra' (manifesto) for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly polls. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, state party chief CP Joshi, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other party leaders were present at the event.
Addressing the media after releasing the 'Sankalp Patra', Nadda said that the manifesto is focused on three points - 'sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas; empowerment of women, youth, farmers, tribals; and stressing on infrastructure. The Sankalp Patra has been named 'Aapano Agranee Rajasthan Sankalp Patr 2003' (our leading Rajasthan manifesto). The manifesto promising to provide LPG cylinder for Rs 450 each to Ujjawala scheme beneficiaries, 2.5 lakh government jobs in five years and increasing the financial assistance to farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme, if the party is elected to power. The manifesto said an arrangement to procure wheat at Rs 2,700 per quintal & a bonus will be given on MSP.
The manifesto also promises completion of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) in a time-bound manner in collaboration with the Centre. Party chief J.P. Nadda also said that if the BJP forms the government in the State, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed to probe paper leaks and other alleged scams in Rajasthan. For girls and women, Nadda said a 'mahila thana' will be set up in every district and 'Mahila desk' in every police station besides an anti-Romeo squad in every city.
BJP National President JP Nadda asserted that for the BJP, the manifesto serves as a roadmap for development. He also criticised the performance of the Congress Party over the past five years and pointed out issues such as corruption, disrespect towards women, neglect of farmers, high electricity rates, and high VAT on petrol and diesel. The state is going to the polls on November 25.
