Public Accounts Committee (PAC) led by Manohar Parrikar is all set to table its report on illegal mining in Goa tomorrow. The report will be presented in Goa Legislative Assembly. However, it has run into controversy as Congress party legislators on the Committee refused to sign it today.

Agnelo Fernandes, Victoria Fernandes and Fransisco Silveira are the three Congress and PAC members one Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) legislator Pandurang Dhavalika refused to sign the report. According to them, the report was biased and prepared without taking them into confidence. However, these four members have hardly attended any PAC meetings. Silveira and Fernandes have not attended more then two meetings.

Parrikar remained adamant on his stance and stated that report will be tabled tomorrow; "there is nothing called minority or majority in signing the report. It does not make any difference whether majority members sign or not" he added.

The report which is likely to expose illegal mining in Goa state was prepared by committee of seven members of which four members have refused to sign it. BJP legislators and PAC members -- Damodar Naik and Fransisco D'Souza, signed the report.

Congress MLA Fernandes walked away with the draft report home. Naik said "The document is confidential as it is yet to be tabled on the floor of the House. If it is leaked now then Fernandes should be held responsible".
