Asian markets settle mostly higher on Thursday

23 Nov 2023 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Thursday on expectations that the US interest rate hike cycle has ended and rate cuts might begin next year. Chinese and Hong Kong shares gained after reports that Chinese property developers -- Country Garden Holdings Co and Sino-Ocean Group Holding have been included on China's draft list of 50 developers eligible for a range of financing support. Moreover, China’s latest stimulus measures to boost its struggling property market also helped market sentiments. Meanwhile, market in Japan was closed for holiday.
