Copper futures settled higher on Friday, supported by China's renewed support for the struggling property sector. Moreover, growing concerns over supply disruptions in Panama and Peru also supported copper prices. A weaker American currency also made copper more attractive for buyers using yuan and other currencies.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0260 to settle at $3.7890 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.23 percent at $8,428.50 a ton.
