Gold futures finished lower on Thursday, ending four-day winning streak by some profit taking and on pickup in dollar strength. The yellow metal for the most active contract however posted second straight monthly gain by 2.7% amidst Fed rate cut expectations.
Gold futures for February delivery down by $9.90 or 0.47% to $2057.20 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. However, spot gold added by $3.05 points or 0.15% to $2,039.46 per ounce.
