Asian markets settled higher on Tuesday tracking Wall Street gains overnight, while investors were awaiting cues from key US CPI report later in the day and the US Federal Reserve's rate decision on Wednesday for further direction. The market is hopeful that the US Federal Reserve is done with interest rate hikes and could potentially cut rates in the first half of next year. The Nikkei average gained marginally, even as the Japanese yen's strength threatens exports. Moreover, Chinese and Hong Kong shares rose ahead of decisions from a meeting of Chinese economic policymakers that might indicate how much stimulus to expect next year.
