Gold futures settled lower on Tuesday, as stronger than expected US Jobs report and upside risks to inflation spurred fears that Federal Reserve might not trim interest rates early next year as market anticipated, dulling investment appeal of the bullion. Moreover, stronger dollar also pressured yellow metal to finish near its three-week low hit.
Gold futures for February delivery lower by $0.50 or 0.02% to $1993.20 per ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold up by $1.03 points or 0.05% to $ 1,978.51 per ounce.
