Copper futures settled higher on Thursday on improved demand hopes after US policymakers signalled more aggressive interest-rate cuts next year. Moreover, weaker US dollar against its major peers overseas also supported red metal prices’ uptrend.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.1050 to settle at $3.8925 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 2.66 percent at $8,551.50 a ton.
