Godrej Consumer Products gains on reporting 73% rise in Q4 consolidated net profit

Godrej Consumer Products is currently trading at Rs. 842.00, up by 5.65 points or 0.68% from its previous closing of Rs. 836.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 833.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 854.75 and Rs. 805.00 respectively. So far 46,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 935.95 on 25-Apr-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 465.00 on 12-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 935.95 and Rs. 812.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 28,655 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.51% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.39% and 7.11% respectively.

Godrej Consumer Products has reported results for fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013

The company has reported a fall of 5.17% in its net profit at Rs 150.26 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 158.46 crore in the same quarter previous year. However, the total income of the company rose 17.13% to Rs 949.72 crore as compared to Rs 810.81 crore in corresponding quarter last year.

On consolidated basis, the group has reported a rise of 73.45% in its net profit at Rs 334.14 crore in quarter under review as compared to Rs 192.64 crore in same period previous year. Total income has increased by 29.83% to Rs 1743.57 crore as against Rs 1343.00 crore in a year ago period.

For the full year, the company has reported a net profit of Rs 510.94 crore for the year ended March 31, 2013, a fall of 15.46% as compared to Rs 604.39 crore for the year ended March 31, 2012.  However total income from operation has increased to Rs 3631.67 crore in FY13 from Rs 3043.13 crore in FY12, up by 19.34%.

On consolidated basis, the group has reported a rise of 9.55% in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit/ loss of associates at Rs 796.10 crore in quarter under review as compared to Rs 726.72 crore in same period previous year. Total income has increased by 31.66% to Rs 6475.22 crore as against Rs 4918.16 crore in a year ago period.
