Protest against PM’s resignation disrupts Parliament proceedings for the day

Parliament proceedings were disrupted with the Lok Sabha adjourning for the day at noon over the protest of several party members and raising slogans on a variety of demands including Prime Minister's resignation over alleged scam in coal block allocation. Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House for the day after laying of papers as the slogan-shouting continued unabated.

Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2.30 pm soon after it reassembled at noon after one adjournment following uproar over BJP demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.  When Lok Sabha reassembled, slogan-shouting BJP members were joined in the Well by those from Akali Dal who sought a Supreme Court-monitored Special Investigation Team probe into the '1984 genocide'.

Earlier when the two Houses met for the day, BJP members stormed the Well, forcing their adjournment till noon as soon as the Question Hour was taken up.  Samajwadi Party members also trooped into the Well raising slogans against Chinese incursions in Ladakh.
