Physical rubber prices extended their fall on Tuesday; initially the prices remained firm despite inflow but later on lost ground and remained under pressure on rumours of import amidst marginal selling by dealers. The futures market remained closed on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, hence unable to give any cue and the volumes too remained skewed.
Spot price for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs 224.50/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 226/kg, while the RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 223.50/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 225/kg.
