Copper futures slightly gained on Monday on improved demand, in spite ahead of the US inflation report for more cues over the US Federal Reserve's interest rate outlook. Moreover, supply disruptions amid mine closures also supported red metal prices’ uptrend. However, firm US dollar makes copper more expensive for holders of other currencies.

Copper futures for March delivery gained 0.16% or $0.006 at $3.8120 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
