MP government to provide wheat at Rs 1 per kg to BPL, AAY

The government of Madhya Pradesh has issued orders to provide wheat at the rate of Rs 1 per kg and rice at Rs 2 per kg to Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holders from June 1. As per prescribed eligibility every month BPL and AAY beneficiaries will get foodgrains.

Under AAY poor senior citizens are also covered. There are 53.67 lakh BPL ration card holders and 16.92 lakh ration card holders in the state. There are 21,284 ration shops of which 4,096 are in urban and 17,728 ration shops in rural areas of the state.
