Asian markets settled mixed on Tuesday ahead of key US inflation data due this week that could offer more clarity on the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy outlook. Japanese shares rallied amid tracking surge in technology stocks on Wall Street overnight. Core inflation in Japan's capital Tokyo slowed for the second straight month in December as cost-push price pressures continued to ease, data showed, taking some pressure off the BoJ to rush into exiting ultra-loose monetary policy. Meanwhile, Chinese shares gained on bets of more monetary easing this year.
