Gold futures finish lower for fourth straight session

12 Jan 2024 Evaluate
Gold futures finished lower for fourth straight session on Thursday, as the bets on Federal Reserve’s interest rate trims dampened after hotter than expected US inflation data. Additionally, strength in dollar and 10-year Treasury bond yield notes also saddled investment appeal of non-yielding bullion.

Gold futures for February delivery dipped by $8.60 or 0.42% to settle at $2019.20 per ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold added by $4.60 points or 0.23% to $2,033.51 ounce.
