Digvijaya Singh of Congress retaliating social meliorist Anna Hazare has written an open letter. Hazare had earlier warned Congress government that if the latter fails to pass Lokpal Bill in winter season of Parliament, he would appeal to voters in five states including Hisar in Haryana that go to cast their vote but not to Congress. Hisar will be voting on October 13, 2011 for next Lok Sabha MP. Congress has chosen Jai Prakash as its candidate.

"I am writing this open letter to you with great regret. I have great respect for you and this is a sentiment that I have held ever since I visited you in Ralegaon Siddhi.  However, a few developments in recent weeks have put me in a dilemma. It looks as if a few people who are close to you are influencing you. These are people who have always opposed Congress ideology," Singh in his letter wrote. “The government is committed to pass the Lokpal Bill. Why have you adopted an anti-Congress stance?” he further added.

Hazare’s representatives including Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi have visited and conducted many rallies in Hisar prodding voters not to back Congress and prove it to UPA government that scam ridden regime will not be tolerated. Hazare has not visited Hisar personally.
