Gold futures finish higher on weak dollar

20 Jan 2024 Evaluate
Gold futures finished higher on Friday, as the weakness in dollar and sliding Treasury bond yield notes boosted investment appeal of the yellow metal. Moreover, safe haven appeal of the bullion amid intensified Middle East tensions and uncertainties over global economic health also lifted precious metal’s rates. The yellow metal for the most active contract registered loss for the week of about 1.08%.

Gold futures for February delivery advanced by $7.70 or 0.38% to $2029.30 per ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose by $6.15 points or 0.30% to $2,029.49 ounce.
