Asian markets end mostly higher on Monday

Asian markets ended mostly higher on Monday due to optimism over China's latest measures to bolster its equity market and the property sector. China will halt the lending of certain shares for short selling from Monday, the securities regulator announced, while heavily indebted property developer China Evergrande was ordered to undergo liquidation. Japanese shares gained as a cheaper Japanese yen boosted exporters. Although, investors were cautiously awaiting a decision by the US Federal Reserve on interest rates this week.
