NALCO soars on hiking aluminium prices by Rs 3,500 per tonne

National Aluminium Company is currently trading at Rs. 37.20, up by 0.40 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 36.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 36.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 37.80 and Rs. 36.50 respectively. So far 210456 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 63.65 on 04-Jul-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 32.70 on 10-Apr-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 37.80 and Rs. 34.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9484.24 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.59% and 3.35% respectively.

National Aluminum Compnany (NALCO), Country’s third-largest producer of aluminium, has hiked aluminium prices by Rs 3,500 per tonne in the domestic market following a slight recovery in global prices. Post this hike, the basic price of standard aluminium ingots rose to 130,200 rupees per tonne.

The company for over past three months has been slashing prices, during which aluminium prices dropped about 8%. It slashed domestic prices of aluminium ingots by 3% due to fall in global prices in the start of this month. NALCO revises prices of its products from time to time to mirror global prices.
