Just in: Retail inflation declines to 5.10% in January vs 5.69% in December

The country’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), decreased to 5.10 per cent in the month of January 2024 as compared to 5.69 per cent in December 2023. Rural inflation stood at 5.34 per cent while urban inflation stood at 4.92 per cent in January 2024. The consumer food price index (CFPI) decreased to 8.30 per cent in January from 9.53 per cent in December.
