Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Tuesday

Asian markets are mostly higher in early deals on Tuesday, as some of the major markets remained closed for Lunar New Year holidays. Albeit some gains remained trimmed as participants sidelined ahead of the release of January US inflation reading, which could influence outlook for Fed interest rates. Japan’s Nikkei is trading near 34 high hits with the rally in technological sector stocks followed by upbeat corporate earnings results, persisting dovish BoJ monetary policy outlook and a weaker local currency yen. Stock markets of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai are closed for public holidays.

Nikkei 225 up by 976.83 points or 2.65% to 37,874.25, KOSPI Index rose 26.69 points or 1.02% to 2,647.01, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI added by 14.31 points or 0.95% to 1,526.59

On the flip side, Straits Times down 19.57 points 0.62% to 3,118.73, Jakarta Composite dipped by 66.81 points or 0.92% to 7,230.86.
