15 May 2013 Evaluate

The Income Tax department issued notice seeking details of expenses for the massive 'Parivartan' rally held by Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad in Patna where he had booked 13 special trains to transport supporters to the event. The RJD rally which is being held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna is the first of its kind after 2005 when it lost power to the NDA.

Lalu Prasad reportedly wanted to use the rally as a platform to elevate his sons Tejpratap and Tarun to senior party positions. It is being considered crucial to reassert the popularity of Lalu who has been lying low since the decimation of RJD in the general elections and 2010 assembly polls in the state.
