Copper futures traded down on Monday as the US dollar steadied after last week's hot US inflation figures casted doubts on when the US central bank would begin to ease interest rates. However, some losses were limited by demand hopes as trading resumed in the world’s top metal consumer China after the week-long Lunar New Year holiday.
Copper futures for March delivery lost 0.81% or $0.0310 at $3.8075 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
