Asian markets end mostly higher on Monday

19 Feb 2024 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly higher on Monday as Chinese markets reopened today from a long Lunar New Year holiday. However, Hong Kong market declined on bulky selling of technology and property shares despite a flurry of announcements by Chinese state banks of plans for billions of dollars’ worth of loans for property projects. Japanese market dropped marginally tracking Wall Street’s fall last Friday, while investors’ caution on fading chances for early interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve also dampened sentiments.
