Copper futures traded down on Monday, tracking a firm American currency at overseas markets on caution ahead of inflation data from the United States. Moreover, higher inventories in the world’s top metal consumer China and signs of continued geopolitical instability in the Middle East have also dampened red metal prices.
Copper futures for March delivery lost 0.61% or $0.0235 at $3.8565 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
