Asian markets settle mostly higher on Tuesday

Asian markets settled mostly higher on Tuesday, with Chinese shares rallied after reports that state-backed funds have invested more than 410 billion yuan ($57 billion) into onshore shares this year, primarily in CSI 300 and CSI 500 Index products, in a bid to prop up the market. Although, Seoul shares declined tracking overnight losses on Wall Street. Japanese shares ended flat ahead of key inflation and GDP readings this week that could influence the US central bank's interest rate trajectory. The Japanese yen gained as data showed Japan's consumer inflation slowed less than expected to 2% in January, hitting the central bank's target and firming expectations of a shift in monetary policy.
