Asian markets settle mostly higher on Tuesday

12 Mar 2024 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly higher on Tuesday with Hong Kong market lead gains by rising technology sector. Meanwhile, investors will be eyeing on inflation figures out of India as well as the United States due later in the day that could give a clue as to when the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates. However, Japanese shares declined following sluggish overnight cues from Wall Street, while the release of mildly stronger-than-expected producer price inflation data also weighed on market sentiments. The Japanese Yen slipped across the board in reaction to Bank of Japan Governor Ueda's dovish remarks, heading into next week's policy meeting.
