JSW Steel reports 62% fall in Q4 consolidated net profit

JSW Steel reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2013.

The company has reported a fall of 23.79% in its net profit at Rs 573.23 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 752.18 crore in the same quarter previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 2.59% to Rs 9344.60 crore as compared to Rs 9593.00 crore in corresponding quarter last year.

On consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 61.55% in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of Profit of Associates at Rs 295.91 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 769.73 crore in the same quarter previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 4.66% to Rs 9900.98 crore as compared to Rs 10385.28 crore in corresponding quarter last year.

For the year ended March 31, 2013, the company has registered 10.78% rise in its net profit at Rs 1801.22 crore in FY13 as against Rs 1625.86 crore in previous years. Total income of the company has increased to Rs 35752.69 crore as compared to Rs 32301.96 crore in FY12, up by 10.68%.

On consolidated basis, the group has registered 79.12% rise in its net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of Profit of Associates at Rs 963.11 crore in FY13 as against Rs 537.68 crore in previous year. Total income of the company has increased to Rs 38279.38 crore as compared to Rs 34444.90 crore in FY12, up by 11.13%.
