Zuari Agro Chemicals’ urea/ammonia plant remains close due to water crisis

Zuari Agro Chemicals’ urea/ammonia plant located in Goa which was shutdown for annual maintenance could not be resumed due to water crisis. Due to non-availability of water from the Goa Government the operations of the said plant could not be started though the turnaround work has been completed. The company had shutdown its urea/ammonia plant from March 24 for annual maintenance.

The company has a facility at Goa, with four plants dedicated to manufacturing of urea, DAP and NPK based fertilizers.

Zuari's fertilizer plants have an annual installed capacity of 946,000 tonnes. Its ammonia plant has an installed capacity of 660 tonnes per day, while the urea plant is a single stream plant and has a capacity of 1,140 tonnes per day.
